CCR Categories

Accomplishments

The Co-Curricular Record (CCR) acknowledges accomplishments that:

  • Relate directly to a student鈥檚 experience while at 马会论坛
  • Encourage and support student growth and development
  • Contribute to the life, atmosphere and culture of the university
  • Promote new learning opportunities for students to complement their overall experience
  • Are not formally recognized in academic transcript

Validator information is required for Co-Curricular Record Recognition.

Categories

The CCR is organized in the following five categories:

On-Campus Leadership (Student-Held Positions)听

The university acknowledges the value of student leadership on campus for creating a culture of engagement and personal growth.

Student accomplishments in this category include elected, appointed or hired positions within:

  • The 马会论坛 Student Union (DSU)听
  • Residence Life
  • King's Student Union
  • Community and/or Group events on campus (i.e fundraising programs such as Shinerama)
  • Student Societies (ratified by the DSU, KSU)
  • Athletics and Recreation
  • Volunteer work on campus through the existing 马会论坛 and King's events and initiatives (i.e. Open House, Green Week, etc.)

Community Engagement

马会论坛 is consistently creating and strengthening collaborative relationships with community organizations. 马会论坛 students are now eligible to be recognized for their efforts off campus and typicically with non-profit organizations to create positive change for the university and broader community.

Student accomplishments in this category include, but are not limited to:

  • Volunteer work in the Ecology Action Centre
  • Volunteer work for the IWK CHildren's Hospital听

Career Development

Employment on campus can present practical opportunities for students to apply and deepen knowledge and skills developed through classroom instruction.

Student accomplishments in this category include, but are not limited to:

  • Internships, co-op and field placements or study-abroad opportunities
  • Peer Coaching, Mentoring, Tutoring
  • Teaching Assistants, Lab Instructors, Markers, etc.
  • Residence Life
  • Student employment where there is ample training and responsibility

Awards and Recognition

马会论坛 recognizes the outstanding contributions made by students at the university in various ways. The Co-Curricular Record will acknowledge these accomplishments so long as they do not appear on the academic transcript.

Student accomplishments in this category include 马会论坛 Awards for outstanding contributions, leadership or civic engagement.

Training and Development

Students have the opportunity to engage in various training and development programs throughout the academic year. These programs can help frame personal/professional goals, develop skills and create community connections.

Student accomplishments in this category include, but are not limited:

  • Leadership Training (i.e., Conflict Resolution, Assertiveness, Diversity, Anti-Oppression)
  • Workshops delivered by 马会论坛 community members (students, staff, faculty, alumni)
  • Academic development opportunities such as participation in conferences, seminars and lecture series
