The Student Health and Wellness in Halifax is an interprofessional health centre providing primary health and mental health services to the students of 马会论坛 and King鈥檚. We offer supervised training opportunities for students enrolled in professional health programs leading to healthcare licensure.
Counselling Practicum
马会论坛 Student Health & Wellness is pleased to offer full time and part time placements听for听Masters and Doctoral students in psychology, counselling and social work.听
If interested in applying, please send a cover letter outlining your training goals, and a resume with 2-3 professional references to听Dr. Heather Patterson,听Practicum Coordinator. In your application, please specify the number of practicum hours needed for your program, and if your interest is in a full-time or part-time placement. We hold interviews at various times throughout the year.听
Please note:听Counselling practicum applications are typically due approximately four months in advance of the placement. The upcoming due dates for applications are September 13, 2024 (for winter 2025 placements) and May 2, 2025 (for fall 2025 placements).
Practicum placements are subject to supervisory听availability.听
Doctoral Psychology Residency Program
马会论坛 Student Health and Wellness in partnership with the 马会论坛 Centre for Psychological Health offer an intensive 12-month training (or part-time equivalent) experience for advanced graduate students in Clinical Psychology and in Counselling Psychology programs.
